After one year living in Berlin and countless visits in the last years, I like to say that I know most of the places in this city, but luckily a place like the capital of Germany always gives you nice surprises.
On my recent short visit in Berlin, a friend took me to this lovely little spot in Neukölln that has all the ingredients to make me happy: a park, a gallery and a café! The Körnerpark is the perfect place to spend a day of autumn in Berlin and feel like you are actually in the gardens of a palace. Continue reading “Secrets of Berlin. The Körnerpark”
Have you ever dreamt of being inside a book? Have you ever thought how would it be if you could see the objects that belong to the characters of a novel? And what if a museum is related to a personal story and not to a historical period or a topic? This is exactly what one of the most interesting museums in Istanbul is all about: The Museum of Innocence.
This very special museum exhibits all the objects that explain the love story between Kemal and Füssun, the characters of the book”The Museum of Innocence” by Ohran Pamuk. Continue reading “The Museum of Innocence in Istanbul”
The best things in life are unexpected… And that is how I found my favourite street in Budapest. I was just wandering the streets of the city, killing time until I could get in the apartment, when I suddenly appeared in this great street that became one of the main attractions in Budapest for me. Welcome to Nagymezo Utca!
If you are spending a weekend in Budapest and are curious, let me explain why I liked this street so much and maybe you will make some time during your visit to the capital of Hungary to go there.

I dreamed about this journey for years. It was one of these crazy ideas that get in your mind and never leave you…but I finally made it! I travelled from Hamburg to Istanbul by road and it was one of the greatest travel experiences of my life. I was 21 days travelling, I have visited eight cities in seven countries (Dresden, Prague, Brno, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Sofia and Istanbul), I have paid in six different currencies, I have shared perfect moments with incredible people and I have learned five things that might be useful if you plan to travel around Europe.

Most of the times we travel to have fun, to enjoy new places or to visit one or another monument or wonder of the world. Travelling is about discovering new cities and countries and is normally related to something positive and carefree.
But sometimes we travel to places that touch something inside us, like the unexpected person you meet on the road that shakes you up with new feelings and questions. That happened to me when I visited Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. I knew something about the history of the country before, but while I was there I couldn’t stop wondering…how can we understand the cracks of a country? Continue reading “Why do you travel? Thoughts from Belgrade”
For me, autumn is the best time of the year. I love to see the trees changing colors, wear fluffy scarves and drink tea wrapped with a blanket. But some autumn days can be bitter cold and that may be a bit disappointing if you are just spending a few days in a new city and you don’t feel like walking the streets.
If this city happens to be the capital of Austria you will be fine, as there are many things to do on a cold Sunday in Vienna just around the Museumsquartier. Continue reading “(Cold) Sunday in Vienna”
To say Prague is to say beer. The capital of the Czech Republic is well-known for its brew, but what happens when you don’t like beer, you don’t drink alcohol or, like me, you travel with an abstemious?
Don’t worry, there are so many other options to drink in Prague and make the most of your visit in the city.

I never miss an opportunity to travel in Germany and discover the best German cities. So, when I had the chance to head south to visit Mainz I didn’t doubt for a second. If you want to spend a weekend in Mainz there are many things to do, enjoy and drink, these were my favourite.
